SE ASIA TOUR: And we are off!
It is 5:26am and I woke up from a cough attack. I will attempt to go back to sleep soon but I have so much on the brain. From the previous post you saw that with the generosity of so many fam and friends we raised enough funds to join the Little Lotus Project. Well today is the day, kids! We bone out to begin our mission.
It has been an amazing year. I just got back Sunday from my second year at Art Basel Miami, rocking my largest wall piece ever with fellow AOS members and fam and now I’m about to fly out to make that long journey to Mae Sot, Thailand for two weeks to work with kids. The craziest thing is that back in January, I added to my visualization board Art BAsel 2011, Little Lotus Project and “Get to paint around the world and give back at the same time”. How fucking crazy is that shit?!!! Maybe I’m a little extra emotional because I’m sick but I am super blown away when I take a moment to pause, step back and take stock of my life. I am not a civilian, I have never been and will never be. Though some of my family members may think I’m a failure for leaving my well paying full time job over 5 years ago, I seriously beg to differ. I have amazing people in my life who support me and love me unconditionally, I get to do what I love, and I’m able to give back to this world that has given me so much.
Woes, Purdy (J*RYU), Daniel Zana and myself leave today to Mae Sot because of the generosity of so many of you and we cannot thank you all enough. The list of supporters is super duper long but you know who you are. After the two weeks and because of the generosity of Gino at Toy Art Gallery, we will be able to continue our SE Asia tour to Singapore, Hong Kong and Philippines for signings, live painting gigs and hopefully some wall smashing. As I even write this shit right now, it FN boggles my mind!
Please know that we will rep our amazing community of artists and family to the upmost. Luckily Daniel will be covering it all on film so that you will be able to experience a bit yourselves. While we are out there will do our best to post as much as possible to the AOS Blog found HERE.
Thanks for the continued support. Hope you all have a happy holiday and an amazing 2012.
Abrazos! See you back in the states in 2012!
