Five years ago (March 14, 2006) I left the music industry to become a solopreneur. Mad shit has changed in my life since then.<\/p>\n

Shit started off well and got better each year for a hot second. Clients were steady, chips were being stacked and \u00a0I was asked on the regular to exhibit my art (which was never a goal). The recession aka la crisis<\/a> slowed my roll at timers so I\u2019m extra hyped on making it to the five year mark.<\/p>\n

I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. The tough financial timers that started late 2009, showed me I needed to assess my current situation and opportunities to make the best possible moves forward. \u00a02011 has been amazing so far and I have faith I will continue to fight the good fight for another five years and beyond.<\/p>\n

Few things I have learned along the way:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Playing checkers is wack and I need to be playing chess. Always need to be a few moves ahead with each move carefully thought out.
\n\u2022 Never get comfortable.
\n\u2022 Evolve or become extinct
\n\u2022 I can\u2019t be a hermit 24\/7. I need to \u201cmake an appointment\u201d with myself and with fam bam to keep that balance. Time is precious. To quote AZ \u201cLife\u2019s a bitch and then you die that\u2019s why we get high \u2018cuz you never know when you\u2019re gonna go\u201d<\/a>
\n\u2022 Always trust your gut
\n\u2022 “The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them.” \u2014 Maya Angelou
\n\u2022 Surround yourself with positive peeps that are about their shit. Do not waste energy on those negative, crazy draining folks. You are the company you keep.
\n\u2022 Learn to say \u201cNO\u201d
\n\u2022 Always be your authentic self.<\/p>\n

The journey has been amazing so far and I look forward to whatever the future holds. I couldn\u2019t have made it without the love and support of my FAM BAM. You all know who you are and I love you all to death. Gracias por todo.<\/p>\n
